How do I harvest my crops in Harvest Moon Island of Happiness?

So I just got Island of Happiness and I have some crops in my field and I cannot figure out how to harvest them? And once I have the green vegetation do I need to keep watering them? I can’t get to the ones in the middle of the field, it won’t let me walk in a square with a plant in it. Please help me harvest my turnips!

   How to enhance your tools to water more squares at once:

   Spring crops: when to water
   (if you go to the “Farm” tab and click seasonal crops there are crops listed for all seasons)

   Sometimes you have to let the one in the middle die in the beginning of the game, just water the outside ones. To harvest just click on the crop and you will pick it up.
